Lake Rogers Park is a great park tucked away among the suburbs in Odessa, FL. You might not expect an off road trail between the neighborhoods, schools, and shopping mall. But Lake Rogers is a hidden gem in Hillsborough county.
Lake Rogers features a trail for hiking or running, as well as camping, picnicking, and fishing. The 2.2 mile loop circles around the Lake Rogers and the smaller Lake Raleigh. There are great views of the lake and wildlife from the trail. The trail has a nice variety of twists and turns, and even some small ups and downs on the trails. This is a relatively short loop, so it makes a nice change of pace for a shorter run. However, it is still a great option for a longer run, as there is a water stop at the start of the trail, and you could also stash your own water to have after each loop.
Lake Rogers is located at 9010 North Mobley Rd. in Odessa, FL, just off of Gunn Highway. There is a $2 entrance fee to the park. The pay kiosk only accepts cash. Lake Rogers is open from sunrise to sunset, the sign is usually posted as 8:00am – 6:00pm.
