For Christmas, Andy, Tom, and I received a gift certificate to TreeUmph! Adventure Course, a treetop obstacle course located in Sarasota, Florida. We were pretty excited to check this place out!
We got to the park just before 10:00am, and went through the orientation process. During this, we were fitted for our harness, shown a safety video, and instructed on a practice “test” course. Once we passed the test course, we were free to explore the five different ropes courses up in the trees.
Each course gets higher and more difficult as the levels progress, and each course also offers different obstacles and features. The three of us really had a fun time progressing through the courses. The park was beautiful! The setting was in the pine woods, and the grounds were very well taken care of. You definitely felt as though you were in a forest! The obstacles were a fun mix of bridges, climbing, zip lining, and other special features. We had a lot of fun “learning the ropes” and challenging ourselves!
Levels one, two, and three were fun and slightly challenging. Nothing too difficult though! Levels four and five started getting a little scarier and a little harder. In fact, level five can ONLY be accessed from high up in level four, and it ascends even higher than that! Andy and Tom decided to skip level five, but I forged ahead. It was a little lonely up on level five. The tone was much more serious, the obstacles were extremely challenging, and there were not that many people up there attempting it!
After finally completely level five and meeting up with Andy and Tom again, we got to finish up the whole course with their giant zipline to the finish. We ascended a tall tower, clipped ourselves in, and zipped to the end! This was an awesome adventure, and definitely something we would do again!
